Hogs have been important to man for centuries. They were first hunted in the for their meat, then used to root out truffles in France. Pigs have been harnessed for driving, trained to hunt, used to clear forsets, and raised for lard over the past centuries. Today, hogs are responsible for industrial and pharmaceutical products such as insulin, heart valves, skin for burn victims, ball bearings, and hair brushes.
